Respond to tasks

Pick up requests from your accountant and answer them from your own system.

What tasks are

A task is a request for input, usually from your accountant or as part of a VAT return. It might ask you to upload a document, confirm something, or answer a question.

Polling

The API doesn’t send webhooks, so your integration finds new tasks by calling GET /tasks on a schedule. Every few minutes is plenty. Compare updatedAt with your last run to spot changes.

Responding

Task type How to respond
boolean Send { "acknowledged": true } to PATCH /tasks/{id}/response
text_input Send { "text": "…" }, up to 10,000 characters
file_upload Upload with POST /tasks/{id}/files
cURL
curl -X PATCH https://api.neno.co/public/v1/tasks/9b2f6c1e-4a7d-4f0e-8c3b-2d51e7a0f4c9/response \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $NENO_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{ "text": "Statements attached for July to September." }'

Files and messages

Download a task’s files with GET /tasks/{id}/files/{fileId} and remove one uploaded by mistake with DELETE on the same path. To add a note for your accountant, use POST /tasks/{id}/messages.
